The lowdown

The regular winter season is now complete and we’re all set for a week of grand finals!

Match of the week

Our match of the week this week goes to 2 players who have fought some great tennis across the season, but saved the best for last. Ryan Agland taking on Jamie Crick in division 1 of our Sydney Inner West Tennis League.

Jamie Crick and Ryan Agland

Jamie came out on top 6-3, 6-7, 7-5 to seal a tough fought win. Well played both, great season! Look forward to seeing you back for our spring season.

“A truly epic clash for the wooden spoon on the final day. The match twisted this way and that, with Ryan just getting everything back while I tired. Very lucky to have hung on – it really was anyone’s game.” Jamie Crick

Player of the weekKatt

Our player of the week award goes to Katt Srinivasan from our Sydney North Shore Tennis League. Katt played 3 in the last week of the regular season.

First up Katt beat Jeff, losing out in three hard fought sets 6-1, 2-6, 0-1 (3-7). Undeterred, Katt played Sascha next, winning 6-1, 7-5. His final match of the week was a 6-4, 7-6 defeat to Tim Wheeler, but nonetheless, great to get three matches of tennis played in the final week! Great tennis Katt.

“Katt has great skills and is a top bloke 🙂 Thanks again for the game!” Tim Wheeler

“Very close game, could’ve gone either way!Jeff Wu

“Katt has a great serve that gave me plenty of trouble” Sascha Schrecker

Grand final matches

Good luck to everyone who has qualified to play in a grand final. May the best player win and don’t forget to enjoy it 🙂

Friendly matches

Just because the regular winter season is all wrapped up, this doesn’t mean you can’t get on the court. Feel free to contact other players from your player directory to organise friendly matches in the off-season. Regular competition is a great way of improving your game and getting ready for the new season.

Promotion and relegation Q&A

Q) Will I move up or down a division next season?

A) If you have found yourself winning most of your matches then it’s likely you’ll find yourself in a higher division next season. Everyone who wins their division will definitely be promoted and quite often we’ll also promote the runner up.

On the flip side, if you have struggled in your current division, we will look to move you down a division so you are playing against others of a closer ability next season.

Our aim is always to get you the closest matches possible.
