Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club
For most clubs, 4 or 5 tennis courts be perfectly sufficient. Maybe if you’re lucky you might have an additional grass court or a clay court. Not Kooyong, nope, they’ve got 51 of the rectangular spaces. 26 grass, 22 floodlit and 3 plexi-cushion. Oh yeah, and they’ve got a stadium too. Talk about greedy!
Moorabin Indoor Tennis
Located in Melbourne’s South East this is one of the few indoor tennis facilities in Melbourne. So, once the rain starts to fall, or maybe if you just don’t like the winter cold, head along and play on their synthetic grass surfaces. No umbrella required.
Milano Serviced Apartments
I know, it’s not a tennis club, but this isn’t all about tennis clubs and their facilities. Right in the heart of the city you’ll find the Milano Serviced Apartments with rooftop tennis all part of the package. Not to mention their swimming pool, gym and BBQ area.
Melbourne University Tennis
Not just tennis courts, but an all round fantastic facility. Melbourne University is not just for students, so don’t worry you won’t have to get the books out. Courts can be hired by all throughout the year.
Johnson Reserve Tennis
The Johnson Reserve Tennis facility is just one of five tennis facilities Maribyrnong Council provides for free. Yep, for free. They might not be as pristine as the grass at Kooyong, but for the price we think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
ASL Tennis Courts
Ok, so we admit, we don’t actually know where the tennis court on the left is. But it looks pretty perfect right? So, if you’ve got some cash burning a hole under your pillow give ASL Tennis a ring and get your own one built. Who knows, your new court might make it to our top ten tennis courts in Melbourne list next year.
Melbourne Rooftop Tennis
For a few weeks a year the Nike road show rolls into town and makes playing on a rooftop with a capacity crowd of 100 people a real possibility. Just be careful not to get distracted by the views when that 150 km serve is heading your way.
Boroondara Tennis Centre
In any other city in the Southern Hemisphere Boroondara would be a facility that would get everyone talking. It just goes to show the quality of high class tennis facilities in Melbourne that this one could slip through the net as a must go place. Tennis courts on tennis courts here.
Melbourne Park Tennis
Home to the Australian Open, Melbourne Park gives you the opportunity to tread in the footwork patterns of Novak, Roger, Serena & Co throughout the year. Including when the Australian Open is on. This really is a truly world class facility. If you’ve never been before, go. Go now.
