North of the river? South of the river? Big tennis centres? Small council courts? We’ve got the lot! We’ve scoured Brisbane to come up with our top 10 places to play tennis in Brisbane.

Queensland Tennis Centre
Home to the Brisbane International, this really is the rolls royce of tennis centres. 23 courts including grass, clay and hard courts means there’s something for everyone here. Plus keep your eyes peeled for Pat Rafter playing on the ‘Pat Rafter’ tennis arena.

Morningside Tennis Centre
Close to the city, 12 lovely brand new tennis courts, rates as cheap as $16 per hour. Morningside is a wonderful tennis centre which was established nearly 100 years ago. If you’ve never been, pop down there today.

Sunshine Tennis @ Mitchelton State School
Sunshine Tennis can be found at Mitchelton State School. Like many of the tennis courts in Brisbane they are located on a school site. However, these singular court facilities have been recently upgraded and at just $10 to $15 per hour are a snip.

Shaw Park Tennis Centre
Ranked the number 1 tennis centre in Brisbane by Tennis Australia it’s hard to ignore Shaw Park. The 10 court facility has a wide range of activities going on throughout the week. They have a massive junior tennis program and loads of coaching opportunities.

Roy Emerson Tennis Centre
Celebrating their 100 year anniversary in 2015 this is a centre steeped in history and tradition. Another centre now managed by Tennis Gear you can be sure of a good quality experience if you head down for a game (or two!)

University of Queensland Tennis Centre
UQ boasts an some of the most impressive tennis courts in Brisbane, however what’s really impressive is all the facilities that go with it. Swimming pool, tick. Gym, tick. Athletics track, tick. Sportshall, tick. Cafe, tick. Go spend a day and try not to come out completely exhausted.

West Brisbane Tennis Centre
The West Brisbane Tennis Centre is a family run small centre. But it’s also got everything you need for a good hit. Great courts, floodlights and a free BBQ should you wish to make an afternoon of it and play at some of the friendliest tennis courts in Brisbane.

Redlands Lawn Tennis
The knees getting a bit weary, or maybe you just fancy yourself as a serve and volley champion like Stefan Edberg? Head down to Redlands Lawn Tennis to play on any one of their 9 synthetic grass courts.

Brisbane City Indoor Sports
And finally, if you just fancy a bit of a change, then why not head down to Brisbane City Indoor Sports to play a bit of beach tennis? That’s right, beach tennis…indoors. A great way of mixing up your tennis game and getting those thighs working on the sand!
